Spotlight on…Multicultural Month
Newcastle University Business School is excited to once again be able to celebrate the diversity of our student body as part of our annual Multicultural Month in February. While we are sadly unable to share experiences on campus this year, we are pleased to be able to hold virtual events as part of our celebration. The wide range of cultures and nationalities embedded in our university provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about cultural differences and experience them ourselves.
Language Taster Sessions
There is still time to sign up for some of these classes if you haven’t already. Chinese and Japanese classes are taking place in the second half of the month and you can view the times and sign up here.
Cultural Insights
Visit our student blog throughout February to read posts by current students and staff celebrating their cultures, find out about special celebrations, favourite foods and traditional customs. There are also some amazing recipe ideas for you to try.
We are spotlighting a selection of the societies you can join through your Students’ Union, giving you the chance to learn about new cultures, see what they’re doing for online social events, and the sort of celebrations they held before the pandemic (and one day will hold again).
Weekly Instagram Quiz
Make sure to follow the Business School on Instagram (@ncl_business) to take part in a fun cultural quiz every Wednesday. You can also view videos from fellow students; recent additions include videos on making your own Yorkshire puddings, and an introduction to Greek language.
