We know you’re studying hard for exams, so we thought we’d put together a short list of things that you could do this weekend as a revision break!
You might have heard, but 6 beaches here in the North East have been awarded international blue flag status…making them among the best in the world! Some of which, are just a short metro ride away.
Hop on the ‘South Hylton’ line to ‘Seaburn’ visit Seaburn or Roker beach. With amusements, bars, restaurants and sandy beaches… there’s plenty to do to take your mind off revision.
Or if Sunderland is not where you want to go, simply hop on the metro from St James’ to the coast to visit Longsands beach in Tynemouth… with seafood restuarants, amazing fish and chips, and beautiful scenery, it’s a great place to clear your head… you can even try your hand at surfing!
If you’d rather stay local… you could always pop to the Quayside Seaside for a holiday a little closer to home.
The Late Shows
Newcastle is bursting with culture, and this weekend you can experience it all at night… for free! Swap the bar crawl for a culture crawl, and visit the museums, galleries, studio collectives and landmark historical buildings to experience one-off events. You can take part in hands-on workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, performances and parties as part of the Late Shows.
The Magic Weekend
You don’t have to venture far from the Business School to have some fun this weekend!
The annual Rugby League Magic Weekend is taking place just over the road at St James’ Park! The city will be buzzing with rugby fans from across the country who are coming to see their teams play
For those of you who don’t know what the Magic Weekend is… 12 rugby teams will play 6 matches over the weekend. The fun won’t be contained to the pitch however, as there’ll be plenty to do at the Fan Zone. Entertainment, stalls and amazing food will no doubt serve as a great break from revision!
