Meet the Class of 2020 – Flora Hopewell

I’m Flora, I studied Marketing and Management with a placement, and have just graduated this year. I loved my years living and studying in Newcastle, and was so sad when it was time to leave! My favourite memory of Newcastle is the summertime when everyone is sat outside in the parks having lunch, and we would go to the beach for a BBQ on the weekends. It’s such a lovely city with plenty of green spaces and the beach so close, so in summer it’s a gorgeous place to be! Other than this, the best thing about Newcastle is that it’s such a fun city to be in. There’s always so much going on, it’s lively, cheap, and everything is so accessible. You can walk from one end to the other, with lots to see and do along the way!

If I could tell myself something when I was first starting university, I would say make sure you make the most of your time! It goes by in a flash and everything is so busy and fun that before you know it, it’s time to graduate. See all the sights in the city, as well as making sure you’re studying hard enough and involved in all the opportunities that the University offers. There’s so much extra help, events and schemes that are available and you might as well snatch them up!

Flora’s first trip to Newcastle Quayside

I think that in five years time (hopefully!) I’ll have a good product marketing job, living and working in London and still in touch with many of the people I met in Newcastle.

The photos in this blog are ones that remind me of some fun times I’ve had while at university! From my first day trip down to Quayside in first year, to summer at the beach in second year, to the last day moving out of my house in my final year!

The day Flora moved out of her house at University (a very sad day)
