My name is Elli and I am a final year Economics student! I have been studying at Newcastle for 4 years, comprising of 3 years of study and 1 year of placement!
Newcastle has been so amazing and I have so many amazing memories there! My favourite memory was this year, in Freshers’ Week when me and my house had just moved in! One evening we went down to the Quayside and spent all night having food and drinks and it was so much fun!

One of the best things about Newcastle is definitely the bars and restaurants! There are so many amazing places to eat and try out new cuisines, either in Jesmond, the City Centre or even on the Quayside! It really is the most amazing place! A top tip – go to The Distillery around the side of the Business School – you will not regret it (the most amazing pancakes in the world).
Also, at Christmas time it is the most beautiful place – you have to go to the Christmas markets!

I think if I could give advice to my younger self I would say to have confidence in yourself. It’s very scary starting a new adventure in a new city with lots of people you don’t know, but try to be courageous and get involved in lots of different activities and events and really make the most of university life! Try not to put too much pressure on yourself and ruin the experience!
In 5 years time, I hope to be settled in a job that I absolutely love! I am starting on the Volkswagen UK graduate scheme in August and hope to stay there for a long time! The amazing thing about the scheme is that you get to try lots of different roles in all different brands – so who knows where I will be in 5 years!

I have so many pictures over my time at Newcastle, but here are just a few that bring back happy memories!!
