I’ve put together the top places for students in The Toon to grab some ‘scran ‘– whether you’re searching for the best hangover cure, a romantic spot for Valentines or a place to catch up with old friends, we’ve got it sorted!

Breakfast:

Quay Ingredient, Queen Street:

Tucked away on a quiet street on the Quayside, Quay Ingredient is the perfect cosy café serving up delicious breakfast and lunch dishes! After breakfast, why not walk down to the water on the Quayside for beautiful views of Newcastle and the infamous Millennium Bridge, or head over the Tyne to the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art to soak up some culture!

The Butterfly Cabinet, Heaton Road:

If you’re feeling fragile from the night before, then head to The Butterfly Cabinet on Heaton Road, located just ten minutes from Jesmond and City Centre. This small, bohemian art-filled café serves up the best Full English Breakfast, pancakes, paninis, milkshakes and burgers!
