Are you a Stage 2 undergraduate student, and looking to enhance your degree with an international experience? Want to learn a new language, meet people from all around the world, or become more independent before final year?
If you’re thinking about how to stand out from the crowd after graduation then apply now for study abroad. For most Business School students* the deadline to apply is 5th January 2024, so you still have time to research our partner universities and chat to the Placement and Study Abroad Team for advice.
If you’d like to find out more about what other students have done, you can read about some of the experiences of our final year students in our Study Abroad Guide. You can read this, along with our various presentation slides from this semester, in your Stage 2 Canvas Community, under ‘Placements and Study Abroad’.
If you want to chat to a member of the team remember that you can book a 1 to 1 chat via MyCareer, with our appointments listed as ‘Placement & Study Abroad Conversation’. Alternatively you can email us at email@example.com with your questions.
*Please note that students on International Business Management need to submit their application by 11th December 2023, and unfortunately students from NN14 are not able to apply for study abroad.
If you’re not sure if it’s right for you, then have a read over some of the feedback from students who have done study abroad previously:
“The course opportunities were high, but my favourite part was meeting a great range of people and being able to explore and live in a brilliant European city. Through your university card you also receive free regional trains, public transport and bikes which was also a load of fun and great for exploring. The university was brilliant at organising welcome weeks events and plenty of trips to surrounding areas for students. This was also continued throughout the term each week or weekend!” – Jude, Marketing and Management student, studied at Cologne, Germany in 2022/23
“I found the year to be one of the most informative years of my life and loved every second. I studied Business Administration and studied modules such as PPE, Global Markets, Internet Marketing, Entrepreneurship and HRM. A lot of these focused around a global aspect of Business Management which I really enjoyed as I had chosen to study abroad and wanted to expand my cultural knowledge. I wish I’d known how important this year was going to be in my growth and development as a person. I genuinely believe this year has been one of the best years of my life.” – Louis, Business Management student, studied at Stockholm, Sweden in 2022/23
“At my host institution there was a student-led society dedicated to holding events for international students. So from day 1, I was being handed opportunities to meet other international students within the university. The city also had an Erasmus Student Network which held multiple events a week which were also great fun and a great way to meet other people. I found it so easy to make friends with people I really clicked with because I met so many people overall, and everyone was so kind and eager to get to know other people. This year has made me realise I am completely capable of moving away, and it has shown that my language skills are good enough to manage working and living in France. I would love to be able to keep up my language skills and be able to use them again.” – Sarah, International Business Management student, studied at Kedge Bordeaux, France in 2022/23
