Become a Business Ambassador

Do you enjoy the buzz of events and the thought of sharing your experiences with future students? Look no further than our Business Ambassador roles.

Every year we recruit a number of enthusiastic students to help with a variety of roles within the School, from supporting our events, to writing for our student blog, creating social media content, taking part in marketing photoshoots and focus groups, and supporting employer visits.

Typical activities may include:

  • representing the School at on campus/virtual recruitment events (Visit Days, Open Days, Post Application Open Days)delivering campus tours for prospective students and their families
  • assisting with the running of Business School events, including set up and takedown
  • sharing your experiences in online recruitment webinars for prospective students
  • contributing to School-wide events, such as Future Focus, and using social media to build awareness of these events
  • taking part in photoshoots for use in promotional materials
  • writing regular blogs focusing on your student experience in Newcastle
  • producing videos about your time as a student with us, under the guidance of the Marketing Team
  • generating email content for students/prospective applicants (providing student insights)
  • taking part in our student focus groups

Flexible working

As a Business Ambassador you can choose the activities you take part in based on your interests and get paid for the work you do. You will be able to fit work around your studies and whilst there is no set number of hours we want you to do, we do expect some commitment over the year.

Full training is provided to all successful candidates after the interview stage and top up training takes place as and when required throughout the year.

Who can apply?

We recruit at the start of Semester 1 and all Business School students are welcome to apply. Unfortunately, we cannot consider students from other Schools at the University.

Join our new student content team

Do you have a flair for social media or creating engaging video content? Then our new roles could be perfect for you!

We’re looking for a small number of students to undertake specific roles as part of our new student content team.

These roles will support with content creation and / or social media engagement – choose which one suits your experience or interests the most.

Due to the specific nature of these roles, we’re looking for students who have a strong interest, understanding of, or experience in either content creation /generation or social media.

Typical tasks may include (depending on the role you choose):

  • creating video content to showcase the School, University, city and more, including editing videos
  • recording events within the School
  • sourcing / writing student testimonials and profiles to be used across a range of platforms
  • running social media takeovers
  • promoting opportunities within the School to other students
  • supporting social media engagement and sharing social content
  • contributing to the Marketing Team’s social media content calendar

Full training on systems will be provided for those who are successful in securing a role after interviews.
