Marketing Assistant - Mammoth

Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) is a summer work experience programme providing current and graduating Newcastle University students the opportunity to undertake challenging, project-based internships within Newcastle University and North East businesses.

This role is 10 weeks full time to be worked between June and September 2017. This position is only open to current finalists and postgraduate students as this will lead to a to a full time graduate position for the right candidate with a starting salary of £20,000.

We are looking for a digital marketing professional who loves the buzz of creating online engagement to join our marketing team in developing, curating, and publishing content across a wide range of channels on our digital estate. You will thrive under pressure and the excitement of launching national campaigns, and adapt to ensure return on investment of a successful campaign.

Main Responsibilities whilst working alongside our current marketing team:
• On-going web site updates – involving simple HTML and WYSIWYG editing
• Creating landing pages, providing regular reporting.
• Google AdWords management and reporting – Work alongside our current team to ensure we stay ahead of the Google updates & changes.
• Email marketing development and management
• Regular reporting to Product on keyword performance and to be proactive with any changes.

Person Requirements: Some experience of the following software will be an advantage. On the job training specific to the role is provided.

Social Media and Marketing Assistant, The Social Market Ltd

 

Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) is a summer work experience programme providing current and graduating Newcastle University students with the opportunity to undertake challenging, project-based internships within Newcastle University and North East businesses.

This internship is for 100 hours to be worked flexibly over the summer.

The French Quarter is a new, relaxed, warm and friendly neighbourhood restaurant & wine bar due to open in July 2017 in Newcastle City Centre. The French Quarter will be joining a community of unique and quirky businesses around the corner from Central Station and just a few minutes walk from the quayside. The 2-floor venue will offer seating for up to 60 people, a private function option and take away service. Offering a simple and regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu, we work with independent suppliers locally and in France, inviting our customers to discover a range of carefully selected products. We challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy and instead create a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

As a new start-up business we are looking for support in developing our social media presence and developing a succinct and clear marketing message. The successful intern will be working directly with the company’s managing directors with the aim to develop a clear and accessible message that promotes the unique selling points of the business and encourages a loyal customer base.
The key objectives will be;
• Assisting with the production of marketing materials and literature.
• Coordinating in the production of a wide range of marketing communications.
• Writing articles and promotional material for the company.
• Preparing interesting and engaging written copy for the website.
• Uploading marketing material to the company website, internet groups and social media sites.
• Assisting at events, publicising events and ordering marketing materials.
As a new business the marketing strategy will need to be analysed continuously and adapted accordingly with the objective of creating a loyal local following.

Person Requirements: The ideal candidate will have the ability to assist the business with both its marketing strategy and in the design of its marketing support. The candidate will have a keen interest in social media platforms and be aware of all current social media trends.

Requirements of the role;
• Personable, presentable and articulate.
• Sound understanding of marketing principles
• Strong copywriting skills and the ability to communicate ideas
• Sound knowledge of social media management tools
• Computer proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Keynote (not essential but an advantage)
• Strong administration and organisational skills.
• Experience in graphic design would be advantageous.
• Experience in hospitality would be advantageous.
• Knowledge / understanding of the French language (not essential but an advantage)

Creative Marketing Intern - Flux Outdoor

Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) is a summer work experience programme providing current and graduating Newcastle University students the opportunity to undertake challenging, project-based internships within Newcastle University and North East businesses.

This internship is for 5 weeks full time to be worked between June and September 2017.Flux Outdoor is a technology company on a mission to make ‘traditional’ advertising smart. You’ll be joining an awesome team that’s changing the way big brands advertise on outdoor billboards – with the help of data and technology. We’ve already helped a bunch of global advertisers to rethink their ad campaigns – counting Lego, BT, Hyundai, Renault, and Tesco amongst our first big wins and we’re determined to keep going.

Where you’ll be working

You’ll be working in a small all-star team, rubbing shoulders with both super smart engineer types and sharp minded commercial types. You’ll be based out of Campus North, a fun and relaxed co-working space in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne and voted best place to work in 2016.

What you’ll be doing

We’re looking for an Creative Marketing intern to join our team for the summer.

At Flux we’re going through an exciting period of growth – with some pretty ambitious plans to broaden both our service offering and the markets we operate in. We’re looking for a creative spirit who can pay particularly close attention to our marketing activation plans and help guide our website development project. If you’re someone with a passion for marketing, creativity and understanding what makes people tick, this is the role for you.

What you’ll be working on

Your role will be to help us amaze and retain our customers. We’ve got some big plans and as we move forward we’re looking for a naturally inquisitive and creative mind to help us champion our data driven advertising message. You’ll be working closely with the commercial team on one of several mission critical marketing projects – there’s the roll out of our website, a content strategy revamp or market intelligence planning. The specific project you’ll be working on will depend on your particular strengths but all require that you’ll have a great understanding of what it means be a marketer. As well as tackling the big projects, we’d like to find someone to build instant rapport and help us delight our customers on a daily basis. As a conduit to our engineer team you’ll be able to effortlessly switch your communication style, helping our customers to make sense of often complex and technical ideas. This is a rare opportunity to have a big impact on our business and gain some highly sought after practical experience.
