Internationalisation Intern

Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) is a summer work experience programme providing current and graduating Newcastle University students the opportunity to undertake challenging, project-based internships within Newcastle University and North East businesses.

This position is for 5 weeks full time or 10 weeks part time to be worked between June and September.

Tea Venture Limited ́s vision is to create a new product category within the alcoholic beverage market. Based on that, our organisational objective is the creation of exceptional alcoholic tea experiences. This results in three main organisational objectives:
1) developing novel alcoholic tea beverages;
2) building distinctive brands around the concept of alcoholic tea;
3) promoting the respective brands by focusing on the respective target group ́s (consumer) needs and appropriate sales channels.

The organisational objectives are achieved by performing all tasks with the highest dedication in order to deliver a unique and premium alcoholic tea experience to our customers. This builds a sustainable business with strong relationships to consumer, retailers, hospitality operators and key partners.

Tea Ventures’ current focus is on building and developing its first brand ‘NOVELTEA’. Nevertheless, we see further growth opportunities within the area of alcoholic tea. Hence, our aim is to build further brands under the umbrella of Tea Venture.

Job Description:
– Develop and implement an internationalisation strategy for NOVELTEA
– Strengthen the supply chain
– Increasing cost efficiencies

Internship Overview:
The intern is going to be fully integrated into the organisation´s task to develop an comprehensive internationalisation strategy for NOVELTEA. The main intern´s activities will be about developing and implementing an internationalisation strategy for NOVELTEA. Furthermore, reviewing and improving the supply chain as well as the product cost structure.

Operations Manager

Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) is a summer work experience programme providing current and graduating Newcastle University students the opportunity to undertake challenging, project-based internships within Newcastle University and North East businesses.

This position is 10 weeks part-time to be worked between June and September.

The Sweet Beet provides foodies with high-quality, unusual, alternative condiments that have been designed using the bold, unapologetic flavour palates of a true Texan. We offer more versatility and creative uses for our products than any other in the condiment market, providing recipes and inspiration through our website to ensure our customers are always brimming with ideas.

This business is about creating more than just product. We are engaging our customers to become more skilled in the kitchen while discovering a new way of using and creating flavour in our kitchens at home.

The Sweet Beet has been designed to become known as a leader in food innovation when it comes to condiments. We challenge our customers to question what a condiment can be and how it can be used with our high-quality, alternative products.

We need someone that shows initiative and knowledge of the food industry. This person will be overseeing distributor and retail orders, sales, marketing and operations of a product-led business. Our key objectives are as follows-

– Create UK wide brand awareness
– Increase sales to retail distributors and independent stores
– Manage social media accounts and create marketing campaigns
– Create and follow up with email marketing, including increasing sign up
– Manage logistical aspects of orders and invoicing

I would like to see this person become part of the business subject to performance.

As we scale, we require a much more in-depth view of the contacts we hold through our CRM system which requires customising and further development. This will allow us to have a strong and comprehensive overview of our target market split by sector, size, turnover and key decision makers and influencers. With this information we are looking to develop on the existing social media platforms and create content to support our ambitious growth plans and client acquisition.

Marketing Intern

Newcastle Work Experience (NWE) is a summer work experience programme providing current and graduating Newcastle University students the opportunity to undertake challenging, project-based internships within Newcastle University and North East businesses.

This position is for 10 weeks part-time between June and September.

Impeller are a social enterprise and commercial partner of Tyne & Wear Fire & Rescue Service – we draw on the exceptional experience and leadership developed by one of the UK’s highest performing emergency services to deliver services to external clients. The funds we generate through Fire Safety, Risk Management and Development activities are reinvested in community safety projects in the North East. Our objective is to make a positive difference to community safety through our charitable donations and the services that we provide to our clients that keep them safe. For businesses and organisations we provide Fire Safety Compliance Services as well as Development services for their staff and organization. For the Fire & Rescue Services market we specifically provide accredited Fire Fighter Training – we are world leaders in provision of Road Traffic Collision training and many other disciplines. For Schools and Academies we provide a Total Fire Safety Care Package which takes responsibility for managing their Fire Safety and Health & Safety legislative requirements. It provides a concise, cost effective and accessible programme for schools to buy into, whilst helping them contribute to local community safety at the same time.

The intern will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for carrying out the marketing actions from the company marketing plan, which will include:
– Events
– Website
– Direct Mail/Email
– Video
– All Social Media Channels
– Advertising
– Sponsorships

The other side of the role will be to manage the collection and distribution of inbound leads to the sales team and track them in our Salesforce CRM system. The aims will be to create marketing activity that drives inbound enquiries for specific sectors. There could be a permanent role at the end of the internship.

This placement is for 10 weeks full time between June and September.

Gap Medics is a young and dynamic company that serves a very specific market providing hospital placements for aspiring medical and nursing students in destinations across Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. We employ local teams and operate our own guesthouses in each destination, delivering an outstanding customer experience that has made us the world’s most successful brand in this sector, with a passionate social media following. Our Head Office in Newcastle is home to our senior management, sales and marketing, and customer service teams, with 20 permanent employees. It’s a modern, largely paperless and technology-led workplace with fun people who love what they do.

As a member of our global sales team, you’ll be at the front line of signing up students to join us. You’ll handle inbound and outbound calls, email and live chat enquiries, ensuring that every potential customer is given a friendly and professional introduction to our service. You’ll be trained on our custom-built £500k CRM system to maximise your efficiency as an intelligent human controller of our sales process.
